Olivia Piana wins “L’eau Vive” 12’6 French National race

Past weekend saw Dream Team rider Olivia Piana win both long and technical races close to Paris on the Marne river in the “L’eau Vive” 2017 contest. An official stop of the 12’6 French National circuit, Olivia won the overall in women and took those important points to be crowned again French National Race Champion in 2017.

Olivia commented about the event:

“The event “L’eau Vive” was the very first French cup in Paris. The organization, the strong club “Le grand huit” with more than 200 licensees and 50 volunteers made the event great ! On Friday I did two clinics with twelve motivated riders who paddle through some stormy periods. On Saturday, 110 racers made the 11Km distance race and there were many more girls than usual.

The spot is beautiful, it’s only 15′ from the center of Paris. It’s like a little Paris, but with the same charm, the river, the “guinguettes” (typical river bar) and a swan family. On Sunday, the technical race was Rock’n roll with a “chicane” and some very stormy periods, in case if we even had time to go take a shower. This week-end was so funny. I’m happy to have met some friendly and passionate people.”

We will see Olivia on a few stops of the Eurotour as it heads towards France in Set Maxime this weekend.
