Michael Booth wins overall at Australia’s Noosa Surf Festival

The 2016 SUP revelation and Dream Team rider, Michael Booth won the long distance race and joined with a third place on the beach race took narrowly home the overall SUP Race title at the week-long Noosa Surf Festival 2017.

The SUP racing in fun sized waves made it a lot more exiting for the numerous crowd who came to see the fastest paddlers from Australia battle it out in the Noosa waters.

Also congratulations to his Starboard Dream Team colleague: Trevor Tunnington taking the 4th position overall after a third place in the long distance and placing fourth on the beach race.

Booth commented about his win: “’Winning at Noosa is a great start to the year for me. It was a really tough field and arguably the strongest I’ve ever raced in Australia. The racing was fast, hard and technical with upwind, downwind, surfing and obstacles on the course. I’m really looking forward to 2017 and can’t wait to kick off the international season”.
