Young Dylan Frick of South Africa Wins Bronze!
The International SUP Racing Scene better get used to hearing the name Dylan Frick, as the young South African is showing he can compete and win against the best of the best.

After arriving in Peru for the ISA World SUP Paddleboard Championships only to find his board stuck in customs, Dylan, just minutes prior to the grueling 2.5 mile distance race received a board from ISA to compete. Dylan still managed to come in 8th overall in the Men’s Distance Race.

He then took out his frustrations on the World Class Competitors by winning the Bronze Medal in the SUP Men’s Technical Race on his 12’6 x 25 Carbon All Star Machine. It was a photo finish for 3rd and Dylan had just enough to edge out Kelly Margetts (AUS).
We received this statement from Dylan’s Parents:
“Pride was us as parents on his wonderful performance in a young age of 17, especially if you take into account that 3 weeks before the world champs he could not exercise much due to a shoulder sprain and was under treatment for the muscle to get right.”
A special shout out to Roman Frejo of Spain who finished 9th overall in the Men’s Technical Race and 14th in the Distance.
Congratulations Dylan and Roman, your countries and Starboard are both Proud!
