Sunrise, Surf and SUP Competition

Suoi Nuoc Beach, Vietnam- The kick off for the 2nd edition of the Sunrise, Surf and SUP competition was an exciting morning with a great turnout of over 60 spectators and competitors.

Although the waves were small, they were clean and peeling off both left and right. The conditions on the first day were suitable for the short board competition. 20 international competitors were registered and turned on a great performance at Suoi Nuoc beach.

Reighning champion Phi Wilson faced strong opposition from his brother Win and a last minute blow in, Sky from Hawaii. The competition was fierce but overall Sky was too strong. After an exciting final, Sky from Hawaii took the shortboard crown.

The Stand up paddle (SUP) and long board events were scheduled for the second day of the competition.

Many Russians in training for the Russian surf championship to be held later this month in Vung Tau joined the SUP competition. So it was no surprise that the event was taken out by Yarik from Vladivostok.

The long board competition saw a close final between Vietnam and Russia. It was a hard decision for the judging panel but in the end young Win took the title with his unique style.
This is a guy to watch in the future.

The Competition was sponsered by 69 Slam , Jibes beach club , Sea links , Whales Village , Chen Sea , Xin Chao , Coco beach & Paris Mui-ne . Winners took home prizes in the form of vouchers and clothing.

The judging panel was represented by surfers from Australia, Vietnam & Russia.

A big thank you to all involed in the organisation and running of the event.
