Starboard Team Rider Finn Mullen Wins Easkey Surf Classic

Congratulations to Starboard Team Rider Finn Mullen, of Ireland, for winning the 2nd round of the Irish National Championship Tour at Easkey Surf Classic and to teammate Lewis Eickholt who secured a 2nd place finish.

The famed lefts of Easkey in County Sligo turned on in the strong off shore winds with both riders opting to use their 2013 Starboard 8’5” pros. ”The wind was gusting to well over 30 knots at times strong offshore, so I set the board to quad mode with Stock Starboard 4.5” fins front and rear, the board has loads of grip and drive with this set up and felt really secure in the bottom turns and able to stick in the pocket and not get blown out the back by the wind.

I was using my 550 Enduro Carbon paddle as it gave plenty of power against the wind but still light enough to move around,” said SUP surf first place finisher Finn. ”It was a great competition with everyone ripping and very many thanks to all the locals at Easkey for allowing us to run the competition on their break for the day.”
