Paddle for Hope NZ 2014
The Starboard Paddle For Hope 2014, proudly presented by Hawaiian Airlines, raised more than $80,000 for cancer sufferers to access the Pinc, Steel and new PaddleOn SUP rehabilitation programs in New Zealand. 92 teams entered the event, which featured 200m Elite and Celebrity Sprint racing, yoga boarding and have-a-go sessions, and saw around 200 novice paddlers take part in their first SUP race!
New Zealand’s next Paddle For Hope event is the Napier Port Paddle For Hope, proudly presented by Starboard and Align Pilates and Physiotherapy, on Sat 31 January 2015.
Entries are now open for this event, which is the first SUP event in the Hawke’s Bay – a region well known for its sunshine, wineries and art deco festival, and with an awesome amount of coastline, rivers and surf perfect for paddleboarding.
There will be a 5km SUP race, 200m Sprints, a Family/Junior relay and the Fun Teams Relay Race (all dressed up in pink costumes). We aim to raise $20,000 for local Hawke’s Bay cancer sufferers to access the Pinc and Steel programs.
Teams can enter for free if they fundraise a minimum of $200 online. Go to www.paddleforhope.co.nz to find out more!
