Jeremy Stephenson - A trendsetter in New Zealand

Its not even a year ago that Jeremy Stephenson brought in his first Starboard SUP boards to New Zealand. In that time he has exposed SUP in newspapers, TV, front cover stories in NZ action sport magazines, organized events, demos and participated at the largest boat shows,, the list is long.

But what is most significant is that Jeremy introduced a whole new trend to his native country. He was able to show how Stand Up Paddle can be a short-board high performance sport, as well as something you can cruise the scenic lakes. He did it in a way that no one else had been able to show before and the community around his hometown Auckland grow so fast simply by always paddling together. Weather it is long distance missions or surf trips. Everyone is always invited.

To tell you the truth, the NZ market was predicted not to be suitable for SUP due to a relatively week economy and lack of interest. All it took was one person who went his own way and with a lot of drive and genuine stoke on SUP he is now the leader in his country.
